Re: Carroll and Nolan
I feel a bit for Carroll. It's not his fault his body can't cope with the premier league for a sustainable length of time.

In an ideal world we'd keep him and play him say every other game but he's on a lot of money and a club our size that still has debt to clear needs to be prudent.

I think it's fair to say he's not been value for money so you have to start to say that should sakho and valencia continue to perform then perhaps it's time to move on.

Having said that, Carroll is a better option than poor old Carlton who really ought to be let go in January.

As for Nolan. Well, i hate that bloodsucking leech.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Carroll can actually play a bit on the deck... He has great technique... Still, he's hardly ever fit or on the pitch and so it's easy to forget that...

Nolan, however, should be nowhere fucking near the starting line-up now... Nowhere near it...

Carroll has been a waste of money.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
If Carroll can get injury free I'd love to see him ln the mix.he has a lot more to his game than the role he's been given thus far.
Song was my MOTM he seems to have settled in fine as have a few others. What would the likes of arsenal give to get him bsck ?

I'm looking forward to next weekend.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Just say we get into Europe in the next couple of years. We need a squad with at least 4 more defenders and a couple of decent attackers. Carroll will be brilliant to have in the squad, hopefully we will get Song thought he was immense.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
As others have said, Nolan has been decent for us overall but is well past his best before date.

If used correctly, Carroll can still bring a lot to the squad. But as adding something different to the mix rather than the single battering ram tactic for all attacks.

Andy should be allowed to a enjoy a line or ten on his off time.
when we are paying him £80 000.00 a week.
Fuck off, you ain't right.
A troubled individual!

One foot in the championship ???
Are you sure ?

Re: Carroll and Nolan
jfk- Not really AC's fault that footballers can't enjoy a line in their off time.

He'll be raring to go hes England''s best striker and twice the player Rooney is when fit and in his prime think we will get good stuff from him when his suspension is up.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Nolan should fuck off and at a push play for Bootle veterans.
Carroll, you'd like to think he'd be doing his upmost to get fit and be eager to fight for his place.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Carroll is a great alternative to Sakho as opposed to CFC.

Nolan is a useless cunt who should never see the pitch again. Luckily our recent form makes it less likely by the game we see that fat piece of shit.

But I honestly think that before we made these new signings we had 1 foot in the Championship so its great to have them all and not be praying for Carroll to rescue us.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
A fit andy carroll gets into any team outside the top 4, Nolan is past his best but as posted previously has done well for us and is an asset off the bench.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Nolan is the club captain who dropped to the Championship to sign for us and played a major part in getting us up and keeping us up. He has been well rewarded for it but he's done exactly what he was asked to do.

Carroll became the club record signing after an impressive loan spell but has been unbelievably unfortunate with injuries. However, on his day, he is unique and totally unplayable.

Today we have just given one of our best performances as a team for a long time and there are so many positives so why the fuck is there always someone who has to find something or someone to slag off? Truly unbelievable.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Nolan on the bench at best but hopefully he is sold soon. I can see Sam switching and changing the team more than is needed and therefore still using Nolan though.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Downing has been a revelation in that central role. Early days but let's hope he and the other forwards push on and make themselves undroppable and keep Nolan out of the side.

Re: Carroll and Nolan
Carroll will have to earn his place, but I think he could be the perfect foil for any of the other strikers to play off.

At worst he is a great player to bring on when chasing the game.

I reckon Nolan's time is up though, with just cameos.

Neither of them should be nowhere near the team... we actually look like a footballing side... and long may that continue

Big Andy is a player

Nolan will not get remotely close that MF

Assuming logic prevails

We shall see - in the interim, I have the hots for the 3 musketeers
